Programs

The Well program

Housing

We understand that every client needs a stable living environment to function effectively in their reintegration. The Well partners with shelters, transitional housing programs, property owners and Social Development to assist clients and their families in finding a place to call home.

Employment
The Well provides each client with the job skills necessary to gain and maintain employment. The coaching sessions include: resume creation, interviewing skills, workplace ethics, interpersonal skills, communication skills, conflict resolution and time management.
Education

The Well believes education is pivotal for successful reintegration and partners with government agencies to offer GED and vocational training, support groups for behavior and addiction issues.  We provide each client with life skills to serve as a foundation for success.

Family Reunification

Often times, the entire family is adversely impacted by incarceration, abuse and other traumatic events. Intervention is provided by The Well to identify family strengths and deficiencies. We work with clients and their families to increase their ability to function as a unit; offering support in the form of classes, training, family support services, and referrals to increase family reunification.

Mentorship

The Well believes every client needs spiritual guidance to help encourage them along the way and we believe mentorship is a key component in the holistic approach.  Every client is given the opportunity to meet with our professional team of trained, Christian mentors for spiritual counselling and other services.

Health

Every client at The Well is given the opportunity to incorporate health education and awareness training as a part of their reintegration goals. Clients are provided the necessary resources to obtain healthcare ID, and connection with local, affordable health clinics and pharmacies. The Well also encourages good nutrition and exercise for healthy living.

OUR BENEFITS

Program Overview

Orientation

In the beginning our clients are provided a basic overview of the program and begin the journey to discover their purpose.

Life Skills

Throughout the program, our clients have the opportunity to develop skills which help to build the foundation needed to effectively adjust and participate in society.  Life skills will include the ability to manage their emotions, health, finances, and relationships; practical skills like cooking, cleaning, sewing, and many other skills will be learned in the program. It is our hope that by learning new skills our clients will increase their understanding of the world around them and equip themselves with the tools they need to live a more productive and fulfilling life; finding ways to cope with the challenges that life, inevitably, throws at them.

Mentorship

Our goal is to build relationships, make connections, and develop trust with our clients. We will work together to follow thru on accomplishing goals and ensure their needs are met. We will focus on self, family, community, faith and healing.

We coach through real-life situations and come up with goals that we conquer together. Through motivation and support, we move towards a healthy restored outlook on life, each other, the community and interpersonal views.

Three months prior to a client’s graduation we help assist them with creating an action plan which focuses on the six core components of housing, education, employment, family reunification, mentorship & health. This action plan helps them to take ownership of their life and to be responsible for taking the necessary steps to become productive and successful; having a sense of direction and a plan set up to navigate re-entering the community.
